Customer reviewsWell engineered product diminished by a bad decision
I actually love the desk. It is just what I wanted. The one thing that keeps it from being five stars is the screws and instructions which came with the desk were for a desktop with threaded inserts. The desktop I received had none. After returning the first unit to Amazon, I learned, in a call to the factory, that they had changed to using self threading screws so as to be able to use a two sided desktop. With that knowledge I was able to proceed. Unfortunately, when I tightened the screws, the base weldment high centered and ripped out one of the screws. I was able to get it to work using washers under each of the screws and a lot of wood glue to mend the damage. I can't help thinking that the original design machine screws and threaded inserts would have avoided the problem, the confusion leading to the return of the first unit and it would have made the assembly easier ... All they saved was one SKU. Certainly not a good trade off for confusing the customer and making their task harder.
